Windows XP End of Life Date is April 8, 2014

What does this mean for you?

Every Windows product has a lifecycle. The lifecycle begins when a product is released and ends when it’s no longer supported or sold.

End of support

End of support refers to the date when Microsoft no longer provides automatic fixes, updates, or online technical assistance. This is the time to make sure you have the latest available service pack installed. Without Microsoft support, you will no longer receive security updates that can help protect your PC from harmful viruses, spyware, and other malicious software that can steal your personal information. For more information go to Microsoft Support Lifecycle.

To help ensure all your financial information is secure, it is recommended that you upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Giving BackGiving Back

During October, we sold cutouts for ALS and raised $109 from staff and member donations. LVECU matched those funds for a total of $218 donated to ALS.

2014 Retirement Contribution Limits

The IRS has announced 2014 contribution-limit changes for several types of retirement plans.

Some pension limitations will remain unchanged because the increase in the Consumer Price Index did not meet the statutory thresholds for their adjustment.

However, other pension plan limitations will increase for 2014. For highlights of what will change and what will not, visit click here.

April 15, 2014 is the last day to make Traditional or Roth IRA deposits for the 2013 tax year. When mailing IRA deposits always indicate the tax year you would like the deposit contributed. Statements for IRA balances will be mailed by May 31, 2014.

LVECU is saddened to announce the passing of Barbara Bold in October, a long time
member of the Supervisory Committee. Mrs. Bold generously gave of her
time to serve the credit union and always had a friendly greeting for all and a smile
on her face. She will be sorely missed. We send our condolences to her family.
