Catch the Save WaveNational Credit Union Youth Week
April 20th - 26th • Open to members age 17 & younger

Kowabunga! This April, youth will be riding the save wave into the credit union. Whether they’ve surfed or not, youth love the beach; digging their toes in the sand, playing with beach balls and jumping in the waves. During the month of April, kids will have the opportunity to feel like they’re at the beach when visiting their credit union as they get tips on how to surf and save.

Like surfers, young savers need tools and techniques to improve their skills. And we’re here to help youth start on the path to healthy savings habits. During the month of April, LVECU will celebrate National Credit Union Youth Week™. This year’s theme, “Catch the $ave Wave™,” highlights tips and resources available at the credit union to boost good habits and “hang ten” on the $ave Wave. Through practice, young surfer savers will learn the secret of riding a gnarly wave that will help them achieve big-time savings.

Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting was held on Saturday, March 15th at Parkland High School. We had a wonderful turnout with just under 200 members in attendance. A report portfolio of our continued solvency and growth was given to members for review (see Board of Directors Annual Report). Robert Bold, Nominating Committee Chairperson cast a ballot for the election. Eugenia Emert, Gary Fedorcha and Gary Phillips were elected to the Board of Directors for a three year term.

Scholarship winners (pictured above) were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Everyone enjoyed the musical performance by Skylar, a Parkland Middle School student who sang and played guitar. There was a variety of fruit and breakfast pastries to snack on, as well as a full breakfast of waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and more. The morning wrapped up with a raffle of door prizes. We would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Todd Holmes and the Parkland High School cafeteria staff for the great service, and Mark Stutz, PHS Art Director for coordinating the entertainment.
